Give Music a Second Life at GVMPA's Used Instrument Donation Rally

Do you have a gently used musical instrument that is no longer being played? Give it a second life—and help a young musician discover the joy of making music.

The Great Valley Music Parents Association is hosting a Used Instrument Donation Rally to collect instruments that can be evaluated, refurbished and placed into the hands of Great Valley students who might not otherwise have access to a quality instrument.

Date: Sunday, September 27, 2026

Time: 10:00 AM–2:00 PM

Location: Valley Creek Park, 361 Morehall Road, Frazer, PA 19355

Community members can bring eligible instruments directly to the rally during event hours.

Instruments We Are Accepting

GVMPA is accepting gently used instruments in the following categories:

• Woodwinds: Flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons and saxophones

• Brass: Trumpets, French horns, trombones, baritones and tubas

• Percussion: Snare drums

• Strings: Violins, violas, cellos and string basses

Please note that we are unable to accept pianos, guitars, electric basses or drum sets.

How Your Donation Helps

Every donated instrument will be evaluated and, when appropriate, prepared for use by a student in the Great Valley School District.

A donated instrument can remove a significant financial barrier for a student who wants to participate in an instrumental music program. Your contribution helps ensure that more students can experience the educational, social and personal benefits of learning and performing music.

Donation receipts and a valuation guide will be available for donors who wish to document their contribution for tax purposes.

Help Us Spread the Word

Even if you do not have an instrument to donate, you can still support the rally by sharing the event with friends, relatives and neighbors. An instrument sitting unused in someone’s home could become an important part of a student’s musical journey.
